Hiroko was one of the most popular Japanese girls names of the 20th century.It first entered the top 10 in 1955. It reached #2 (1973-1976, 1980) and #1 in 1982. It then dropped rather quickly and left the top 10 in 1985 after having been in the top 10 consistently for 30 years.It was most commonly spelled 裕子 (abundant + child).
