I’m frankly shocked that no one has mentioned American business magnate and co-founder of Standard Oil John D. Rockefeller, arguably the wealthiest American of all time (although I suppose with all the innumerable Johns throughout history some are easy to overlook).
I am genuinely astonished at the fact that no one has mentioned English teacher, John Keating (portrayed beautifully by the gifted Robin Williams) in Dead Poets Society.
