Also to make this on-topic, this name is super cute. I personally wouldn't use it just because I'm tired of the "kat" suffix but there's nothing wrong with this name at all and i like how sweet and simple it is.

I think Katya is a pretty Russian girl's name. I like it, although I wouldn't use it. I would more likely use Katie, which is probably better than this name.

I prefer this name and variants (Katia, Katja) to the more common Kate and Katie.
