As a person who dislikes this name in general, I think that this is the only acceptable spelling.
I absolutely hate it when people say the name Kayley is "Childish" it's really not. My name is Kayley and it's a beautiful name! It's just a name, no one should be saying terrible things about a name. I really love my name, and no one has ever made fun of my name or anything else.
Literally I am in love with this name! My best friend has this name and is quite disappointed in your rude personal options. Although this commenting system is to state your opinion, you guys are insanely rude. My friend can't believe these comments. The name is unique and beautiful. The name Kayley is amazing. Although you may think that it's a child's name, it would be an easy name to pronounce in the work place or in social events. Currently all the Kayleys that I've met are the sweetest and funniest on earth! It's just a name that your parent(s) or guardian(s) give you. You don't choose it when you're born. Though you can at a certain age I would say not. It's an amazing name!
I prefer this spelling to Kaylee. It isn't that bad of a name! Pretty and cute.
If you want to name your daughter Kayley/Kaylee/Kayleigh/Kailey/Kaylie/Kailee/Kaleigh/Kaley spell it Kayley!
Even worse than Kaylee.
My name is Kayley and I am Chinese and if you don’t respect this name then you should be ashamed because it is a name that is amazing and I have a friend named Kayla and in my class everyone is mixed up on our names but her and my other friends now respect every name in this world, even if somebody’s name is mistaken- well then respect them still and don’t bully people by their looks, name, and if somebody likes somebody and they bully the person they like then you might get caught by bullying them and get in trouble and don’t change how you look because then you might change yourself- you might change yourself back to normal and you have to be yourself and be happy.
This is my name, and I've read many comments saying how terrible it is. I would just like to say... I love my name, and I wear it with pride. If you have your heart set on calling your baby this name - I advise you to! While the stats may be somewhat unflattering, that is only (so far) based on 92 people's views. Think about the other 7 billion people out there. Everyone I have come across loves my name. I don't see a reason for people to not like it. I think it's unique...Also, to the people who want to know how to spell this name in Irish (I would know as I am Irish), it's Cèilidh. Not caleigh, as many people mistake it for. (It's pronounced the same as Kayley, (-k-lee-) except older Irish people may make a bit of a hard 'c' (like c in cough or cold) sound when pronouncing the k, just a part of our Irish accent though.
Please, please don't name your child this name. It is my name and I absolutely hate it. It's so childish and silly and there are so many better names out there. If you are determined to name your child this, please spell it differently so it's more interesting and it doesn't look like a three year old's name.
Honestly I don't see how this name is deemed as childish and unserious. My name is Kayley and nobody appears to have any grudge towards me for having that name. So are people saying just because I have the name Kayley that I'll be insensitive later in life and never amount to anything but fun and games?...
Before this year I had only ever met one person with this name, though spelled Kaleigh, and the one other time I'd come across it was on Quest for Camelot. But now there are two Kayley's in every one of my classes. I don't really have a problem with frequency--the name is pretty, I think it ages well, and one of my book characters is named Kayley--it's just that this name like Aidan, has such a pleasing sound to it that people start naming their children things that rhyme with it, even if the names have no meaning. (I deplore the use of meaningless names, it seems rude and uncaring.) There are so many Bailey's, Kayley's, Hayley's, Shaelie's--and once I met a girl named Mayley--in the world that it's really becoming quite overwhelming and unoriginal.
I've seen many "origins" of this name (which seem questionable) and derivatives, and spellings. I've personally always loved the sound of this name and named my daughter Kaleigh. I'm surprised by some of the negative comments, not just about this name but in general. To say you "despise" this and all "trendy" names (which I disagree on the trendiness of this name) and criticize people for what and why they choose the names they do for their children is so small-minded!
In my opinion this is the best spelling of this very typical name.
I love this name, and a lot of spellings of it too. I love Caley, Caylee, Kaeli, Kalie, Kaley, and Kayley. I think it's adorable. I love it paired with Hope for a middle name.
Not such a big fan of this name. And, Kayley isn't really as popular as it seems. (Check the popularities.)
If you are thinking of naming your baby Kayley but want to be more original (because the name is so popular), spell it with a "C". I think Cayley is such a pretty spelling of the name and definitely more unique.
I like this name a lot, though my favorite form of it is "Kayleigh" (I saw a little girl with it in a magazine, and I've liked it ever since). All versions, to me, seem very sweet, and the sound is very different from a lot of other names, though the name itself is getting more and more popular. I've even pitched the idea of Kayley/Kayleigh to my expecting aunt and uncle! And I hope she goes for it.
I simply cannot believe that the "correct" spelling of this name is less popular than the new fangled Kailie, Kailey, Kaylie and Kayleigh. This goes to show how truly oblivious and unenlightened the parent population is these days. *Sigh*
Kayley is a beautiful elegant name, Kay could be used as an adult.
The name Kayley sounds beautiful when you are born. But when you get older Kayley kind of sounds awkward. I just see it as a child's name.
