I love the Italian pronunciation best, simply beautiful. (Also, swap the ‘C’ and the ‘M’ and you get Carmella!)
My grandma is Marcella. She goes by Marcy. I will name my first daughter after her. She is such a strong & godly woman, I can't not name my baby after her.
It's got this beautiful pronunciation.
What a mellifluous sound.
My name is Marcella and I tell people that and they say it's really rare. The name Marcella means young warrior and I believe in God so instead of young warrior I say I am a prayer warrior.
Marcella... my sister is only mean when you mess with her family. Especially her kids or her little sister. Other than that she is very strong and really thoughtful and introspective. Likes things quiet and does not like being in the crowds.Nothing mean about that.Mom was the only person in her group of friends from high school that actually named their daughter what they said they were going to... she liked Marcella and stuck with it.Marcie hasn't changed it in 48 years so she can't dislike it that badly.
I prefer Marcelle over Marcella.
I was named Marcella after my great grandma. I was mostly referred to as Marcy, but also Celly, Cella, Marce. Now that I am in my 30s I go by Marcella a lot. I have gotten a lot of compliments when I tell people my name. As for someone thinking it sounds like the name of someone mean, well all I know is my great grandma was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. And I don't see myself as mean. But maybe we just are different from the rest lol.
A mean person? I highly disagree. I think Marcella sounds exotic and very beautiful. Different and uncommon too, which is always a good thing. Definitely a good feminine name to consider.
I don't like this name. It sounds like the name of a mean person.
Marcella, although old is a very pretty and feminine name.
I used to love Raggedy Ann when I was a little girl. Both my mum and I have loved this name ever since. It is an elegant and exotic name.
