I like the meaning!
This is a VERY unusual name! The -bel ending makes almost anything look attractive. I wonder how many Bible names are out there that I haven't heard yet, just like how I had only recently discovered this one?
Mia, Mimi, May, Mel, Mamie, Mab and Mabel could easily work as nicknames for this name. I love Mehetabel, it's quirky and refreshing.
What a really, really, *cool* name! Hettie and Belle could both work as nicknames, and the -bel ending is recognized in modern times as distinctly feminine, yet Mehetabel remains exotic. So awesome!
I really like this name, I think it's (sadly) underused these days, which is unusual because this name belongs to two Biblical characters. And also, I think, aside from it being a Biblical name, it's a really lovely and useable name as well. There's no reason why this name can't be as popular as Isabel, or some of the other -bel names, although I think the fact that this name is rare and barely heard of adds to its unique charm, and Hetty and Belle are really great, usable nicknames are well. :)
This is a very pretty and unusual name. Seems like it would make a good middle name, and a nice alternative to the very common Isabel, Annabel, etc. Definitely a name worth reviving.
