When my wife was pregnant in 1998 we spent seven months arguing about our daughter's name. Then one day she was watching "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" played by Jane Seymour, and said, "We're naming her Michaela" after the character. It sounded good to me; I had never heard the name before so I assumed it would be unique. Then she got to first grade and was the fifth of five Michaela/Mikaylas in her homeroom! Who knew!
