This name makes me think of the brilliant performance of Jessica Walters in Play Misty for Me and of a misanthropic but wonderful character in the novel Happy All the Time by Laurie Colwin.

My name is Misty. The day I was born I was supposed to be named Misty Dawn but my Dad got mad at my Aunt who is named Dawn so he changed it to Misty Lynn. Haha. I am actually glad because Misty Dawn is more common and I really love Misty Lynn. It means Misty Lake, like a thick fog over a lake. Every time I walk by a foggy coated lake it absolutely entrances me and I love that it is what my name means. Also, I have to say I am absolutely in love with all these very positive comments about my name!♡

Misty is a Pokémon character. She was honestly my favorite character other than Ash. Brock (that's also my brother's name) was a bit weird always crushing on Nurse Joy and other girls. May was okay too. Misty as a name is very pretty, it's a very pretty and cute name. I might not use it, but it's about the most adorable name out there.

I named my daughter Misti Dawn. I heard a song in the seventies that always got to me about my first love. The song is "Misty Blue"... I decided if I ever had a daughter, I'd name her Misti Dawn! The best part is that my first love and I got back together and we named our daughter, guess what!

Misty sounds like a very beautiful name. I’m not one for nature names, but there are exceptions like Summer, Autumn and Misty, and flower names tend to be the best type. I love Misty air and it is very beautiful so this name is great. Misty from Pokémon may be somewhat annoying, but she is also pretty kind and one of my favorite Pokegirls along with Serena.

My name is Misty Dawn and I happen to love my name. My mom named me after her favourite time of the day; the time of the day when she feels closest to God. It is not "tacky" as someone said in 2008, in fact I get quite a lot of compliments on my name! But I guess it's all in how you wear it too. Reminds me of a 1980's teeni-bopper who dreams about rainbows, riding horses, and Carebears all day. Who paints her dog's nails pink and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up, only she is so vapid and silly, she just ends up getting married right out of high school. Not a very good adult name, in my opinion. Okay nickname for a little girl.

I don't think this name is too bad. However, I'm not keen on the fact that it's an English adjective rather than a noun. (I have the same feeling on the name Thankful--but I think that's an atrocious name to begin with, so perhaps that's not the best example.) Anyway, I would be much more inclined to use, instead of Misty, the noun Mist--or perhaps even Myst, which was a name I saw in Kresley Cole's novella "The Warlord Wants Forever" and thought it was really cool!

I really love this name, I think Misty is a cool and modern name, especially as it reminds me of Misty from the first series of Pokemon, who is the gym leader of Cerulean City.

One of my friends wants to change her name to Misty and I really hope she changes her mind before she actually does. In this book I once read which name escapes me, this young girl was asked what she was going to name her girl. She said maybe Wendi (spelt with the "i") and the older man told her she had to give the child a "good, strong name". I agree, this name is just too flimsy for my taste.
