The protagonist in the book "The Nanny Diaries" by two former nannies is named Nan. I think her full name is Nanny, although I don't like that because Nan is a nanny.

Henry VIII's second wife (and earlier mistress) Anne Boleyn was heavily disliked by the common people and those with sympathies to the Catholic church (and thus the Spanish Queen Katherine, Henry's first wife). They believed her to be a witcha and gave her the nicknames "The Great Whore" and "Black Nan".
