I prefer Nobela for girls.
Negative comments can be said of any name. My name is Noble. I always joke on how my parents had high hopes when I was born. I was teased as a kid. A name is just that, a name. It doesn’t quantify your being. In other words haters can hate. Teasers can tease. Judgers can judge. I'm 37 and have never blogged. I happened to google my name and this came up. It’s funny how the cruel people are the type to see something wrong with just a name. They should put more effort into improving themselves and those less fortunate. Then maybe they could also be “Noble.”.
Noble~kind, generous, and courageous (admirable qualities). It makes a great middle name because it has such a strong sound. Good choice!
This is my son's name: "Noble Nekail" everyone seem to love it. Never had anything said bad about it. Just fits him!
Came across a little boy named Noble and it fit him just fine. It's quite a nice name - I don't see it as pretentious, but I do understand how it could be seen that way. The first thing I think of isn't the "class/rank" definition, but its other meaning: honorable, virtuous, etc. It has a nice, strong sound and I like it as a middle name.
Paired with a girl twin, Noble and Grace would be nice.I've always like this name. It's a word-name that really doesn't demand too much from its bearer, unlike Chastity or Royal.
"Noble" is definitely one to scratch from the books. It is a very juvenile, unattractive, unintelligent name-- it is not dignified, and will only prove to harm the bearer (whether or not it is visible; whether or not someone boldly makes it obvious; whether or not people falsely compliment.)Sometimes I am forced to ponder the attraction of names of this theme... "Noble, "Royal," "King," "Queen," "Prince," "Princess," "Duke," "Duchess," and so on and so forth.
The holder may potentially be the brightest, most utterly brilliant mind... but the actual name will create an added barrier to demolish. What parent wishes to make their child's life more difficult? And for a reason that could have been avoided?
I was looking for names of the meaning "noble" and look what showed up? For boys, ehhh... but overall I DON'T like this name.
If you really had to have the meaning, then I feel that you should choose a different name with this meaning so that it wouldn't be as overt and his failings wouldn't be so glaring if he turned out to be total scum.
Reminds me of Barnes & Noble. Even though I love that store, I would never name my kid this. What nicknames could they have? Nobi? Bully? Egh.
It seems like a funny name for a child. What if the guy turns out anything but noble?
I don't know why people don't like this name, it's actually pretty cool and unique.
I love the name Noble for either gender.
"Hi, I'm Noble." -puke- This would make a good, rude nickname to call a "hero" type person, behind his/her back. I hate it as a given name.
I know a guy named Noble and it works for him so don't knock it, it isn't that bad.
This name has the word "pretentious" written all over it in my opinion.
Uh, who would really name their child this?
