Actually Paxton is mostly used as a surname. I would know because my surname is Paxton.

My 8 yr old daughter is named Paxton, whenever anyone hears her name, they always tell me how beautiful and unique it is, so really it's used as a unisex name.
Sarah Palin's son is named Paxton as well.
