Phillida

Hmm, Phillida... I haven't heard that name for so long that I don't really know what to think. I like it, it seems like a nice name, but too mature for a girl, maybe? I do not know. I would like to hear it more often and read comments from people with that name, to have a stronger opinion. But I don't dislike the name, maybe in a few years it will become more popular...

Just as adding Ys into names that don't normally contain a Y makes the name often look "wrong" and remove its charm, so does taking out Ys that were there to begin with. This is the case with Phyllida (and Phyllis as well, though I vastly prefer Phyllida). Phillida looks like a typo for Phillipa (which itself looks like a misspelling of Philippa, but that's another topic).
