All jokes aside, this name is pretty cool. Debating on whether this is good as a full name or just a nickname. Sounds nice regardless!

I kind of like this name. Randy sounds like the name of a person who you can always count on. Gives off a very pleasant friendly vibe.

It reminds me of alcohol.

This name doesn't sound that mature or attractive to me. It also reminds me of the Monsters University character and the British slang.

Randy Marsh from South Park is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear this name. I recently found out that the word “Randy” means sexually aroused or rude and aggressive, and I think the name suits him perfectly!

I always liked the name for a guy even before I found out it meant what it meant in the UK. Even though I probably would not name my kid that, I think it is a nice sounding name and kind of sexy.

My dad’s name was Randy and he was very loved. I like the name for a boy or a girl.

In recent years (for some reason), the name Randy has been used in TV Shows and Commercials to degrade a character, often to apply that the person is anything from stupid, clumsy, perverted and so on. For example, in Supernatural, Dean Winchester says "Of course she's in trouble, she's hanging out with a guy named Randy" (I'm paraphrasing), in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where Spike (with amnesia) assumes his name is Randy Giles. He gets irritated & claims "Why not just call me Horny Giles or 'Desperate for a Shag' Giles. Also there is an Allstate Commercial where a character named Randy can't be trusted because he seems clumsy. There are many more.
Don't name your child Randy like I did. Unless you find it comical like me.

Even though Randy sounds obnoxious and means horny in the U.K. I don't think it's that bad of a name. I actually quite like it on males, but it sounds too tomboyish for females.

I dislike this name. It doesn't exactly have a pleasant ring in my ear. I picture a bratty spoiled kid who thinks he's better than everyone.

I know a girl named Randi or Randie (I don't know exact spelling) but it's a short form of Miranda. And also every time I hear this name I imagine the funniest dude from South Park Randy Marsh! xoxo

I hate this name. The slang meaning is bad enough, but even worse is the fact that a radio show where I live has a gay man on it named Randy. I find him very annoying.

Pretty horrible. It kind of makes me think of obnoxious frat boys of the 1970s or so. It sounds quite trashy, even though the name Randolph sounds elitist.

1. Sexually aroused; lustful; lecherous.
2. Rude and aggressive.

No offense to any Randys or those who enjoy that name, but I would not name anyone something that means something like that.

In America, it's a perfectly nice name, and I like it minus the associations. However, in Britain, it is, um, not such a nice name.

Randy should only be a guy name. Really!

I think "Randy" should be a boys' name and "Randi" should be a girls' name.
The boy Randy I know is a goth, and we hated each other from the time we met.
The girl Randi I know is my best friend and has been since we were kids. Her father, Randy, is kind of nasty -- he drinks a lot and makes life really tough for his family. I both like and dislike this name. Ignoring the people I know with this name, I'd feel impartial to it, so I guess I'll go with that.

My personal impression of the name Randy is... It's a really cool name, anyone with it has to be lucky. I know it's an old name but hey... Oh wait, maybe I said all that because my name is Randy! I'm not too happy with my name but I couldn't pick anything better (my mother liked it and so do I).
