Hi - I discovered this site researching the background of my name. I always knew my mother named me from the Bible Act 12:13 and the meaning was a servant of the Lord!
I claim all the meaning behind my name and I Thank God for his gift. I have always loved roses and to come to understand that my name means "Rose" is amazing Grace! I serve to God's glory and learning to stay humble as a child.

The name Rhoda makes me think of the song "Go tell Aunt Rhody that her old gray goose is dead." For that reason, I've always thought of Rhoda as the name of a farmer's wife. Maybe kind of an old woman name, but not in a bad way necessarily.

I think this a good alternative to the name Rose or Rosa. Both of those names are very common so this is good if you don't want a common name.

I... LIKE it, and associate it with the character, of course. But it does sound like "rode a (insert surname.)" xD; And it's very similar to Rhonda, which I like a LOT.

My choir director's name was Rhoda and I always thought it seemed like such a pretty, faerie like name.

It's a disappointment that this name isn't used that much these days...
