Salacia

Salacia is the Roman Goddess of spring water. When she heard the God Neptune wanted to marry her, she ran off and hid from him in the Atlantic ocean. However, Neptune sent a dolphin to look for her and eventually the dolphin found her and then brought her back to Neptune. Salacia agreed to marry Neptune and she bore him three children. The dolphin was awarded a place in the heavens. Salacia is identified with the Greek Goddess, Queen Amphitrite.
