https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SelenaAlso, how is 'Selena' a Russian name? Through my resarch, I couldn't find any citations that dictate to Selena being a Russian name. If anything it should also be an English name at the very least... Just like Celine, Selina and Salena/Salina.Commonly pronounced as /sə.ˈliː.nə/, /sə.ˈlin.ə/ or /sə.ˈli.nə/ in English. [noted -ed]
Also used in English speaking countries like the US.

Selena appeared on the top 1000 list from the 1890's to the 1900's. It came back on the top 1000 list in the 1960's. Its most popular year was the 1990's where it ranked 197.
Take a look at the popularity chart for this name. Starting in 1991, its popularity started rising annually; that's the year that the career of the immensely popular singer Selena really took off. In 1995, the year of her untimely death, it shot up to #91 on the Top 1000 list, compared to #300 the year before. Coincidence? I think not.
