I'm an old man now but when I turned 18 I ran to the first tattoo parlor as fast as I could and sat down in the chair and a very nice Japanese man asked what I wanted. I said I wanted a unique Japanese symbol that means honor and respect. He inscribed a super cool version of "Takashi". After all these years I still love it.
