It's so elegant and ethereal!
Not only do I love this because of Hamilton but because I looked up the meaning of Theodosia and it means God's gift. Who wouldn't want to name their child God's gift?
Even aside from the Hamilton association, this is a beautiful name that I would definitely use on a child. It sounds so Shakespearean, and almost Dickensian.
"Dear Theodosia, what to say to you. You have my eyes, you have your mothers name" such beautiful lyrics from Hamilton. It's a very nice and elegant name, this is honestly in my top 5 names for my future daughter if I will have one.
Theodosia is that one uncommon name that I absolutely love. Hamilton really put this name out there.
I think Theodosia is a lovely name, prettier than Theodora, but less outlandish than Theophania. While it might be a tough name for a young girl to carry, the spunky nickname Theo is youthful and energetic.
This makes me think of the song from Hamilton, "Dear Theodosia." I think this may lead me to like it, but then again it might just get that song stuck in my head.
Well, my previous comment was correct, I am now absolutely obsessed with the name Theodosia. It's a beautiful and rare form of Theodora (which is rare on its own), and it eliminates the "dora" sound that I don't particularly like. The nicknames Teddy and Thea are cute, too.
When I see or hear Theodosia, I always think of a bulldozer. This is just a bad, bad, bad name.
It reminds me of a wildflower.
I really love the name Theodosia. It is very gorgeous. I also like the foreign forms Teodosia, Theodosie, and Fyodosiya.
