Comments (Pronunciation Only)

When I was very small in the 1980s, I had a friend who wasn't born in the US named Valentina. I don't recall where she was from, but I think it was from an Eastern European country, and she pronounced her name VAL-ehn-TEE-nuh.
It is pronounced at least something like Val-ehn-TEE-nuh. The acute mark above the I indicates a long vowel in Slovak.
