Vera/Verona derives from the ancient and modern Albanian/Illyrian name Vera, which means Summer. And a version of Verona means summer like feeling!
I had a German relative in the Middle Ages with this name. Perhaps it could be a variant of Verena.
"Verona" could be a form of "Veronica".
"Verona" could be interpreted as a combination of "Vera"+"Rona" or "Vera"+"Ona" or simply "Vera"+"ona" as a suffix without a particular meaning.
