With that said, I would like to note that the given name Viltė is more than just a short form of Viltautė: it can be a given name in its own right (in which case it is indeed directly derived from Lithuanian 'viltis' meaning "hope") as well as be a short form of feminine given names that end in -viltė, such as Doviltė and Vaišviltė.
