I named a fictional character Violet Lily Marigold Primrose, I found it hilarious. Primrose is a Scottish surname.

What is with all these names being described with a Scottish origin in the description, then not being listed as Scottish?
A friend of mine has a daughter called Violet, nicknamed Vivi (pronounced vee-vee). I love the name, not only because violets are lovely flowers, but because of their delicious scent. I'm wearing Violet cologne right now!
Like Veronica it seems to have been used (albeit sparingly and among certain upper-class families) in Scotland from the sixteenth century, long before it became general in England, possibly due to the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France and the influence of French names. (Violette in its case).
Violet is also Czech form. Name Day: 25th May.
