There is an anime I was watching called "Vampire Knight" and there is a little girl that just got adopted and her dad named her Yuki. He said that it meant beautiful princess. But even if that's not what it means it's still a pretty name.
Yuki alone and with two characters can be a guy's name as well. Yuki written with the characters for "gentle, best" and "hope" is on the Top 100 for boys and also quite common for girls. [noted -ed]
Used alone for a girl's name or as part of either a boy's name or a girl's name (boys who are just Yuki are actually Yuuki if it's not short for something). For boys, they use just one kanji to make up the "yuki" portion of their names (if they have yuki in their names). For girls, it can be one or 2."yuki": -happiness/luck -snow -this -go"yu": -freedom -together/friend (this character is usually pronounced "tomo" though) -bear (produce... as in "bear fruit") -kind/smart -play"ki" -joy -honour/respect/worship -writings -turtle (rare in names these days)Girls' names with "yuki": Yuki Yukie Yukiko Yukino Yukimi Yukiyo Miyuki (another pronunciation for the character for happiness/good luck)Boys' names with "yuki": Kazuyuki Katsuyuki Kuniyuki Shigeyuki Takayuki Tomoyuki Toshiyuki Nobuyuki Noriyuki Hideyuki Hiroyuki Masayuki Matsuyuki (had a student with this name... using kanji for pine-snow) Motoyuki Yukio Yukihiro Yukimasa Yoshiyuki
