Feminine form of Bertrad. Bertrada of Prüm (7th/8th century) was the co-founder of Prüm Abbey. Bertrada of Laon (also Betrada, the younger) lived in the 8th century AD. She was the wife of Frankish king Pepin the Short and mother of Charlemagne.
