Traditionally a pet name, occasionally used as a given name.In Terry Pratchett's 2012 novel 'Dodger', Dodger is the name of the main protagonist (loosely based on Dicken's Dodger). The use of the name Dodger may also be due to the popular Major League Baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers (formerly the Brooklyn Dodgers), particularly after World Series wins.
