Meaning & History

Saebie seems to appear in only a few old documents and census records from the 1800s and early 1900s, mainly in the US, some in Australia. Quite a few of those bearers had Dutch or Frisian last names and relatives with Dutch and Frisian given names.
While I couldn't find Saebie as a Dutch or Frisian given name in its own right, there is an old (East) Frisian feminine name Saebina which was recorded in (East) Frisia in the 1800s.
Saebina was coined as a feminine form of Saebe and Saeben, which themselves are variants of SEBE and Seben.
