Meaning & History

Means "generous, modest, honorable" in Irish. In Irish myth this was the name of Emer's elder sister, "also a goddess", whom Cúchulainn supposedly rejected because of her relations with Cairbre Nia Fer. It was also the name of a daughter of Míl, wife of Íth's son Lugaid.
