[Facts] Re: the name Haywood
Haywood is a name (originally a surname) of geographic origin, describing where the bearer hailed from.Haywood means "enclosed wood", from the Anglo-Saxon "hege" + "wudu". It's the name of several towns/villages in England, and the earliest placename spelling I can find is "Haiwode", dating back to 1086 in the Norman Domesday Book.Given all that, where'd the "Sandy" come from? Just curious...- Da.
