[Opinions] Alicia
I love the name Alicia, but there are so many variations. My fiance and I prefer Alecia, but is there any other alternatives that any of you out there know of that look okay (not out of this world) but still look unique enough so that my daughter won't be Alicia or Alisha? Thanks,
Toughi

I've got a sister named that. "Alee-sha." She seems happy enough with her name... and I always liked it better than the one I'm stuck with, so yeah. It's very pretty, IMO.

I love Alicia, but only when it's pron. a-LISS-ee-a.

Alecia looks misspellt and uneducated to me. Sorry. You don't need a unique name for your daughter, she'll be unique anyway. Alicia is very fine like this, and at least she won't have to correct everyone's spelling of her name, and people won't think "ok, she's trailer trash, let's not hire her".

I used know one Alicia, and she is 18-years-old, but I do not know any Alisha's. Are you pronunciationing it as (and excuse my butchered typed pronunciation) Uh-LEE-cee-ah? Like actress Alicia Silverstone? If so, then I'd say the spelling Alicia coincides. I would pronounce Alecia the same way, but it looks awkward and would probably cause spelling problems. Who cares about popularity? I hardly see the name in birth announcements, and if you like it, then that's all that matters.

I knew an Elyshia but that may be a bit too creative for your taste.

My cousin is named Alicia, but it's pronounced A-lee-see-ah. I knew a girl in primary school named Allycia, prn. Alisha, I spose you could also spell it Alycia.
