[Opinions] Deirdre
This name has been growing on me lately, and I have a couple of questions for y'all about it:)Is it too similar to Eva for a sibset? (since both have the long e sound and end with "a")My last name starts with a D...is this a little too heavy on the d sounds? It seems like it may be out of the question for a future daughter, but I'd like to hear your opinions on it :) Also, any suggestions for mns? Thanks!Eien

I love the name Deirdre and have always wondered why it is not more popular. I always thought it may be because of the meaning of the name and the sad story in Irish folklore about Deirdre and Naoise.

I pronounce Deirdre DEER-dree and therefore don't think it is at all similar to Eva.

I LOVE Deirdre. I think it's beautiful. Deirdre and Eva might be similar, but not too much.

I like it, though I've always pronunced it DARE-drah and would have trouble adjusting, heh. I don't think it's too similar to Eva. I'd never use Deirdre, since I know one (she's called DeeDee) who has repeatedly ignored my desire to be on the stage. Puts a bit of a bias on the name, heh. :)I really like Eva, though. It's gorgeous. It's really too bad that it's getting so popular, because I would seriously consider it otherwise.Array

I love Deirdre! I think it would sound very nice with Eva.

It's cute..(m)..but I'm not sure how you pronounce it. I don't think it would conflict too terribly with your last name unless it sounded very similar.Deer-dra is how I'm saying it. Is that right??
