[Opinions] Alicia and Allison...
Dh and I have always liked the name Alicia for personal reasons from when we met. Some friends had a DD about 3 months ago and named her Allison nn Allie. Do you think Alicia is too close to Allison for us to consider using it? We wouldn't use a nn.Thanks
Angela

Since they have fairly different pronunciations, I don't think that it would be a problem.

I don't think they are too similar, Alicia is quite different.---------------------------------------------------------------------

No I don't think so. I would still use it if it's your favorite.

Nope. I mean, yes, they're variations of the same name, but I don't think they're so similar in sound that you & your DH should avoid using Alicia, especially if it means something to both of you. :o)Proud adopter of eight PPs! See my profile for their names.

I dont think that it is too close to use and even if it was why wouldnt you use it. Just bc your friends used a similar name doesnt mean that you cant use a name that you love.Nikki :)Proud Mama! See My Profile!

No, I don't think it's a problem in anyway. Who cares if someone used a name that's similar to the name you like (or, the same name, furthermore)? I see no problem with friends and family using the same name or similar names for their children. You like the name, and no one should stop you from using it.

Well, first off I love both names- I actually know twins named Alicia and Allison so after that I think your situation is perfectly fine!

No, I don't think so. It's not like its a sibset, just a friend's daughter. I think it's fine :)__________________________________________________
