[Opinions] Re: WDYTO Tristan?
The name means sad... like from the latin word(tristis) for sad.I'm not arguing or anything but can you explain to me why you think it's wimpy sounding. I've always been interested in why people have certain reactions to names and why other people have different ones.

Actually, according to this site, it doesn't mean sad:
http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?nmd=n&terms=tristan&submit=GoWell, the -an ending makes it seem wimpy to me. It's just a really weak syllable imo, because it's so common and seen on kids of such wimpy suburban white parents trying to be cute. (A little blunt, but, well, you asked :).) And part of it is how trist means sad. And short i isn't a very strong vowel in the first place. A name where the only vowels are short i and a schwa can't help but sound wimpy to me.

A I see and I much prefer bluntness to being um... not blunt?( can't seem to think of the opposite of that word...I'm a blunt person myself and I think it's better to be blunt than try and save people from getting hurt/make it sound better than it really is/ etc. etc.
