It's been growing on me lately. I found a BA for a little Maura this morning.

I like it but I worry it sounds too much like "moron" and "morbid". :-/

Maura's pretty and hasn't been done to death. It sounds romantic to me, like she could be a pretty young Scots lady with a lovely tartan wrap and gingery hair that gets whipped back by the wind as she stands lonely on a cliff overlooking the sea, waiting for her lost love. You know what I mean? :DArray

My niece's name is Maureen, so I'm partial. But even before she was born I thought of Maura, Moira and Maureen as hidden treasures waiting to be rediscovered. I'd love to meet a little Maura one day. :-)

I took care of twins named Sean & Maura. Very Irish. :)

I like it a lot, though I prefer Maureen. Maura is my sister's friend's name (actually, I think it's spelled Moire or Moira), but she goes by Mo.
