WDYT?

Do you like it as a given name or nickname?

I think it would be nice as a nn for Carlyn (my mom's maiden name was Carlin) and maybe Charlotte although DH isn't crazy for that name.

Would it be too way out as a nn for Carissa? I guess it wouldn't really work-I love Carissa too though. Anyway, thoughts?

I like it as a nickname, for either Caroline or Charlotte. :)

It reminds me of the character Carly Manning from "Days of Our Lives" though. ;)

Hum I now looads of Carlys only one is a nickname and its for the name Carla its nice.

Hmm...I think it *might* work for Carissa. I like it as a nn for Caroline or Carolyn, but I think it can stand on its own also.

I like Carly just as it is. Any girl that I've ever known with the name has had it as their full name. I've never heard it used as a nickname. I like Carissa too, but Carly would be to way out as a nn.

I don't care for it personally, but KatjaKai once said that it could be used as a nn for Scarlett. I've always think of that now when I see it.

I dislike Carly, but prefer it as a nickname.

I do think it's too much of stretch to be a nickname for Carissa. And Carlyn seems really trendy. I like Charlotte though. You could also do Caroline or Carla.

I think it could work as both. I have a friend called Carly, and her full name is Caroline. For some reason I didn't think of Carly as a possible nn for Caroline before I met her, but I like it and it suits her.

I like it as a NN for Carlyn, and I think it would work as a NN for Carissa if her MN started with an L (Carissa Leigh, Carissa Leanne, etc).
