Several sources quote that Andrew (Greek) was a translation of his Hebrew name, but do not provide details of the original form? Can anyone help with the Hebrew? and does it mean the same as Andrew meaning manly?

I have never heard of Andrew being a translation of a Hebrew name. However, if you translate it back, you will most likely end up with GEVER, "man, strong man, brave man." And this is a biblical male name (1 Kings 4:19), though a very rare one. More popular is GABRIEL, which at least contains the word "gever."

no hebrew name is recorded in bible but he might be called in a greek name, Andreus. all i know is that he was a brother to Petros and son of Yona "Khaifa".
