While they would fit the time of your birth they'd still be dated and that would work against you in the future. Jennifer (though boring) is more adult than Jenna to me. If I were to recommend either to you I would probably go for Jennifer, even though they're sooo common. I don't even know now many Jennifers I've met, though.
