I love Ellery, but for a boy only!

I prefer Hilary - Ellery sounds like a dropped H version to me and I think of Ellery Queen and celery.

1. I much prefer Ellie or Ella.2. I do prefer it on a boy, because the only Ellery I know is male. (He's about 17 and his first name is William, but he goes by his mn.)3. Ellery Grace, Ellery Christine, Ellery Charlotte- something more feminine for the mn

1. I like it, not as much as I used to, but it's still a favorite.
2. I wouldn't mind it at all on a boy, but I prefer it for a girl.
3. My old Ellery combo was Ellery Skye, but here's some others that I can think of off the top of my head:Ellery Alice
Ellery Annabelle
Ellery Azalea
Ellery Cara
Ellery Gwendolyn
Ellery Hazel
Ellery Iris
Ellery Joy
Ellery Lavender
Ellery Madeleine
Ellery Sage
Ellery Seren
Ellery Violet
Ellery Vivienne

it's alright, boy or girl,
Ellery Quinn
Ellery
Or
Ellery + anything feminine to confirm that she's a girl on her CV
Ellery Queenie - i think i'm just being silly, my husband just suggested this name and i was horrified, Lola and Queenie? I don't think so...
Two syllables won't flow well thoughI prefer Eleri too, that's definitly female, so Quinn can stay!
Eleri Shay

I don't like the sound of Ellery at all, for girl or boy. If I had to choose a gender to put it on, I would say male. It reminds me of celery, and I can't stand celery, which has probably affected my view of the name.

I prefer EleriI really like Eleri actually. (ETA)- I prefer Eleri to Ellery because Ellery is male to me (although not a name I like on a man, but I do consider it a firmly masculine name as a I know a male Ellery) whereas Eleri is a feminine name, with history and it changes the whole feel of the name to me. Mns:
Eleri Ceridwen
Eleri Jemima
Eleri Delilah
Eleri Scarlett
Eleri Quinn
Eleri June
Eleri Maryam
Eleri Sunniva
Eleri Francesca
Eleri Serena
Eleri Veda
Eleri Thais
Eleri AnnabethAny you like?

Allergies or EulogyThose were my first connections. I think that it's honestly unisex sounding. There isn't any specific part that makes me think it's one or the other. Although the Ell part at the beginning does make me see it as slightly feminine. Perhapd Ellery Jane or Ellery Jean?
