Can someone please tell me the origin of the name Christl?
German? French?

I don't know, but I would assume it's just another way to spell "Crystal"Unless it's pronounced "Krist-ELLE", in which case I assume it has something to do with Christ.

hi, there are more names that have the same meaning: "christina", "christin", "kirsten", "christine" and "christa". they all exist in the scandinavian form with an "k" instead of the "ch"!

Christl is a dialectal pet form of Christiane or its short form Christa in southern Germany and Austria. It is sometimes written Christel as well, but it is pronounced the same way.
