I am on the fence about it too, only because I knew a really cocky, egocentric Dean once. Other than that I think it's a great, strong sounding name. If you are unsure then I would use it as a middle name, but I would love to run into a little Dean one day.

I would likely use it as a middle name anyway. I typically don't like to use honouring names in the first name slot.
