I like it! mI once read a book with a character (an elderly woman) named Dove. I thought it was so beautiful, soft, romantic and poetic, but yet still down to earth. I like nature-based names, and I always wondered why Dove was not more popular. The nickname "Dovie" is adorable. It's one of my GP's for sure. I know people would have trouble getting over the Soap (and apparently chocolate) connections.I still love it though and would probably use it if I thought it fit my child.

I know a man named Dovso Dove doesn't sound odd to me as a fn. I like the similarities, and contrast, between the masculine Dov ("bear") and the feminine Dove. I think it works as a fn. But it makes a nice mn too.

DovThat is a really neat name. I especially like the meaning BtN gives, and I don't normally pay attention to meanings. Is it pronounced the same as Dove or is it a much shorter O sound? Or am I noting a difference there that possibly doesn't even exist?I like Dove, too, especially as a female name. I think I'd rather see it as a MN, though.

Makes me think of the bird, the chocolate and the soap. It could be alright as a mn, but don't like it for a fn at all.

I have a friend whose middle name is Chenoa, which I think means Dove in a Native American language.

It makes a sweet mnBut as a fn it isn't so nice. I also imagine people would be confused over whether it was dove as in 'she dove into the pool' or dove as in the bird

It reminds me of, Dove soap and chocolate. It would be ok, as a mn though.
