I pronounce this MY-uh.
I prefer the Maya spelling. For some reason, Maia seeems to me to lack substance.
Had never heard the pronunciation MAY-uh, but I like it.
Jonquil mentioned the combo Maya Celeste, which is absolutely beautiful. It has a good rhythm and feels solid. I love both names.
