[Opinions] Adeline
What is your opinion on this name, Adeline (pronounced to rhyme with wine).Personally, I have never seen the appeal of Adelaide. I think it is the "layed" part that turns me off, but it is just one of those names, like Ruby and Isabella that doesn't affect me whatsoever.Adeline though gives me a nice, understated, early American feel.I'm especially drawn to the combos of:Adeline Mary
Adeline Keturah
Adeline Susannah*

I too do not understand the hard-on the world has for Adelaide these days. I like that it's old-school and unexpected, but it has such an odd sound, like "addle-aid".Adeline is a nice choice. It has the old-fashioned feel of Adelaide but with the classiness of Caroline. I like Adeline Susannah myself - it really complements that Southern dust-bowl chic. It reminds me of permanent waves and strings of pearls and flowered aprons.

I went to school with an Adeline. She went by Adie though.

I have always been very fond of the name Adeline. And I agree, I think it has a much lovelier sound than Adelaide.
Adeline Susannah is a lovely combo.

Adeline is all right. I can't help but want to stick an M in front of it, though.I really like Adeline Susannah.

Adeline Keturah and Adeline Susannah are really lovely. I like the name, and I agree, it's got a really nice quaint old-American feel to it. I also love the nickname Addie.

I love Adeline and it's one of my top 5 for a little girl. I'm hoping the popularity stays low on this one ;) I think I prefer Adeline Mary but I've paired it with Raya (Adeline Raya).

Adeline's lovely, though its burgeoning popularity bothers me.Adeline Mary, Adeline Keturah, and Adeline Susannah are rather endearing.

Adeline is good, although when i see it I automatically think AD-a-leen. The -ine prn. reminds me too much of Madeleine.
Adelaide makes me think of the city, and then the queen. I think it looks better than Adeline, but Adeline sounds better. Adeline Mary is okay, but I think Adelaide Mary would flow better.
I like Adeline Keturah. I wouldn't use it but I'd be glad to see it on a kid.
Adeline Susannah doesn't seem to go together, but I've never liked Susannah anyway. The only problem I see with Adeline or Adelaide is that I don't like Addie / Addy / etc.
