[Opinions] Cordelia
I had Cordelia on my list a while back and kind of just forgot about it- I have started thinking about it again and am totally smitten. I love the sound of it and how it reminds me of Anne of Green Gables - my family is from PEI so it has a really sentimental feel to me. I was thinking of Coco for a nickname but would likely use the name in full. I would love some general impressions of the name. Also, what are your thoughts on it with Scarlett and Malcolm- I like the repeating 'c' sounds in all the names- weird I know:) The name would be either Cordelia Anne (too themey?) or Cordelia Maureen (too much of a mouthful?).
Other names that are at the top of our list as of today are:
Iris
Greta
Felicity

I like it. It's very pretty and Shakespearean, but it's also got a friendly feel, although maybe that's the Anne association - I'm a fan too (and from the books I'd say your family are very lucky, PEI sounds like a beautiful place to live!)
The sibset looks nice to me, and I like the repeating 'c's too now you've pointed them out. Nice to see a little Malcolm, it's a great name.
I'd go with Cordelia Anne, but I think Maureen and Iris work well with it too.

Thanks!! PEI is as it sounds in the books- truly a magical place and part of the reason we chose Scarlett- reminded me of the red shores I guess:)
I'm a dork about how names sound together and something about the set is pleasing to me- I like how the names are all similar in length and the 'c's as I mentione....nice to know I'm not totally crazy:)
Thanks as well for your compliment on Malcolm's name- it was a name used on both sides of our family and it does seem to fit our little one really well.
Thanks again for your thoughts- very appreciated!!

I like it. It reminds me of the character from King Lear, who was a good character if too 'soft' for my liking. I mostly like the sound though. Cordelia Anne is my fav, theminess aside! Cordelia Maureen is actually good too. It sounded more of a character name at first but I can actually see it on a person, and i would probably like it too...
Scarlett and Malcolm seem a bit more 'modern' than Cordelia as a set, but I guess it would work. Mostly if it had a nn though. Cordelia soulds like the oldest in almost any group IMO. I like Iris, and sometimes I like Felicity. Not sure about Greta.

Thanks so much for your response- I agree about Scarlett sounding a bit more modern because of its recent increase in use(although it does have a fairly long history as a name) but I actually think Cordelia and Malcolm are of similar vintage- both being used by Shakespeare etc. I was actually wondering if the two together were a little Shakespeare themey- hope not:)
Anyhoo...thanks again!!

I like Cordelia alot. Cordelia and Scarlett is a lovely sibset, but I really dislike Malcolm, and I don't think it fits with the beauty of Cordelia and Scarlett.
I prefer Cordelia Anne over Cordelia Maureen - I think Cordelia needs a less fancy middle name to balance it out.
Cordelia Iris is stunning btw!
I also really like Greta as a first name, Greta Felicity maybe?

Scarlett and Malcolm are my kids so their names are already set in stone:)
I too love the sound of Cordelia Iris but I am really want to use either Maureen or Anne to honour my mom-
Greta is still near the top of my list but I am definitely charmed with Cordelia as of late.

I'm not familiar with Anne of Green Gables, so a themey name from the series would just go over my head. Cordelia, Scarlett and Malcolm sounds like a good sibset to me.
