[Opinions] Atticus
Thoughts on the name Atticus? What would you rate it out of 10? Is it masculine? Would it suit a boy and adult?
Also, do you find the KISS sound at the end off putting?
Any Nickname suggestions would be great too

I pronounce it more AT-ih-cuss so I don't say "kiss."I would give it a seven in masculinity. Enough to be boyish (and not be stolen by girls). Not so much that it sounds overbearing.I would love to meet an Atticus of any age. I can see if on all ages, I think.I really can't think of any nn ideas except maybe Atti.

I like Atticus. It's not a favorite of mine, but it's a nice, solid name. I feel it's very masculine. I'd probably rate it 7 out of 10. I think it would suit both a boy and an adult. I don't find the -kiss sound at the end off-putting at all. I'm not sure about a nickname. Attie is too feminine. Ha. Er...I'm at a loss for nicknames...

I do kind of like it, and I like the literary connection. It does feel pretty hipster, though. I think I'd give it an 8 out of 10. It is definitely masculine, but gently so. Definitely would suit any age.I don't find the ending offputting. It's not like it's emphasized when you say the name aloud. I think Addy would be a wonderful nn for it!

I loves me some Atticus. Ever since I read To Kill a Mockingbird over the summer break, I've adored the name! It's such a fantastic book and Atticus Finch, in my opinion, is the greatest literary character of all time. With my accent, Atticus doesn't end in "kiss", nor does it have a 'D' sound in it; ATT-i-cus, not ADD-i-kiss. Atticus is such a handsome name! I'd give Atticus the nickname "Atty", though I know my mum would call him "Atlas"...

I love Atticus. I'd rate it a a nine. Nine simply because I don't love it quite so much as my favorite boys' names, Cassius and Evander, but I do love it. It's quite masculine. I don't see how a name could be more masculine. Definitely suits an adult, but a boy? Not so much. But I'd rather have a name that suits a man and not a boy than the other way around--people are adults longer than they're children.

Atticus isn't really my style, but I appreciate thats different, and a pretty cool name. And no the the end sound doesn't really put me off, infact I didn't really pick up on it ending like that until you asked... the way I say it, its not exactly at-ah-KISS... slightly more uh sounding maybe? I'm not sure on nicknames, maybe kiss ;P... nah could call him Atty...
