I always think of that nasty old lady in the movie There's Something About Mary. I will forever associate the name Magda with that! LOL
Magdalene actually isn't that bad in my opinion, however. I met a little girl named Magdalene, and she went by the nn Maggie. I thought it was sort of pretty.
