[Opinions] Charlotte?
I know it's pretty popular and all, but besides that, what do you think of the name Charlotte? Do you like Charlie better, Lottie or just plain Charlotte (or any other NN)?

I like it and I would use Lottie as a nickname. I don't really like Charlie as a nickname for Charlotte as I think Charlie is more of a boys name. Also I find it a bit illogical because Charlotte begins with a "shar" sound while Charlie has a harder "char" sound.

It's not really my style. Lottie is the cutest nickname for it, I think. Ever since someone pointed it out in a thread, all I can think of when I see Charlotte is harlot. :(

I really like beautiful, classic Charlotte. I prefer Charlotte for the birth certificate and then Charlotte, Charlie, Lottie, or Lotta depending upon the child's personality and preferences.

The harlot...It's also a town in my state. Complete no-no in my books.

Ignore.

I like it. It's a classic. But I don't like Charlie or Lottie for nn.

I seem to spend my life explaining this: Charlotte not only rhymes with harlot, it actually contains it. This alone is enough to put me off it for life; however, I don't much like the sound either. I'm fine with Charlie for boys; Lottie not at all; and though I don't much like Charlene in all its various spellings, I do prefer it to Charlotte.

It's okay as a name, but as for nicknames, Lottie over Charlie, definitely. Even Chuck is good, lol.

I like it, and I think both Charlie and Lottie could work as NN's.

I really like it. I can't use it because it's too ... um, too something. Too French? That's not it. I dunno. It just seemed too ... arghToo cold?Whatever. I love the sound of it and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I just couldn't use it for my own kid. I don't think it needs a nickname at all and I don't like any of the nicknames. I think Lottie is better than Charlie, though.

I love it. I'd just say Charlotte, but Chée is cute (pronounced like Shay).

I love Charlotte! I like both nicknames. I think if the girl is more spunky, you could call her Charlie, and if she's more shy, Lottie would be a better fit.

I love the name Charlotte. I don't really care for any of the nicknames though. Charlotte is too pretty to ruin it with a nn.gum

oops ignore the gum on the end!
