Shortly after Declan's birth, the couple relocated from New York City to New Paltz, New York in order to avoid the paparazzi. Julian took some time off to be with his wife and son. He went back to recording and touring after almost a year. Elise has been a lot more selective with her work, choosing projects located within a reasonable distance from home so she can focus on raising her son. She and Julian are constantly staying in touch when he's on the road.
When Julian and Elise learned they were expecting again, they had their managers set up a brief news conference to answer all questions and avoid further craziness: a major act for the private couple. Julian hit his own milestone during this time when he won his first Grammy. Elise was at the award show cheering on her husband. She even teared up when he praised her during his acceptance speech.
Three months after the Grammys, a daughter was born. Their little girl is named after Elise's best friend and former costar, Mariel Jensen, who also served as the maid of honor at her wedding. Julian suggested the middle name Christine, a name he always loved. Declan is thrilled to finally be a big brother and even tries to help his parents take care of his baby sister.
