Emilia, definitely. It's less common, and (I think) more elegant.

Alexandra. My choice is biased cause one of my best friends is named Alexandra and I have a horrible association with the name Emilia -_-. I do really like Alexandra, though. It's very pretty!

Ooo, they are both pretty good. I pick Emilia, because I love the nicknames Em, Emmy, Milly, and Milia.

Emilia. I can't stand anything like Alexandra, Alexander, Alexis, etc. I've just never liked them at all. Emilia is beautiful.

AlexandraIt's not as frilly as Emilia, and not as in vogue, which I like. Plus it has lots of nicknames Alex, Lexi, Andie etc

I like both names but prefer Emilia because it's less popular and has a sweeter sound to my ears. Also I love the names Amelia, Emma and Emmeline so Emilia is right up my ally. Alexandra has a stronger more powerful sound and Emilia is more feminine and sweet.

Alexandra. It's close to my name, and I think it's always been a very strong name. Emilia seems overly flowery (with all the i's and the -lia ending) and is just "too much."

In a nicknameless world--or at least a Lexi-less world--I'd go with the stately, dignified Alexandra. Emilia is almost as grand in my eyes, but its similarity to Emily and Amelia bothers me some. I'd worry about it being constantly misheard as one or the other, a real possibility since they're both so much more popular. Here in the real world, though, I pick Emilia. I'm very attached to Alexandra, as it's my mother's mn, but I hate the popular nn Lexi so freakin' much that I'm afraid to use Alexandra as a first name. I can't risk even the possiblility of it devolving to Lexi, and I know I could only control it up to the point that my Alexandra started making her own choices about what she wants to be called. Emilia is lovely in full, and if a nickname is used, Em and Emmy are fine with me.

Emilia!
Alexandra is just too common and I don't like any nicknames for it.

I much prefer Alexandra just because I'm so tired of Emily and Emma. Even if an Em name is slightly different (Emilia, Emmanuelle, Emmeline), it can still be reduced to Em or Emmy.

We would only use Lia as a nn. :)

Okay, well, in that case, I really like Lia. There's something so light and delicate about it vs. Leah (although I like that as well). And, I confess, I do like Emilia much more than Emily.

I like both, but I'm partial to Alexandra, which has both strength and femininity. Emilia is strong and feminine as well, though.Emilia is pretty, but Emily and Amelia are both popular where I live. Alexandra is also popular, but I could at least use a less popular nickname, such as Xandra.

I vehemently prefer Emilia, which is fresher and more interesting than Alexandra.

Alexandra. I really dislike Emilia.

Usually I'd pick Emilia, but it's so similar to the really popular Amelia, Emily, Amelie etc that today I prefer classic, strong Alexandra :)

EmiliaFor pretty much all my life I've hated Alexandra (but I've always loved Alexander). Lately I've fallen for Alexandra, but I still prefer Emilia. I still dislike pretty much all nicknames for Alexandra and I think Emilia sounds so much sweeter and well, better.

EmiliaI like Emilia better. I like Amelia, too, and names like Elena, and the nickname Lia, so those are reason why I like Emilia. I do prefer Emilia to Emily. I've never been much of a fan of the "Alex" names. Alexandria is nicer to me than Alexandra (I really dislike Alexis/Alexia, etc.) and I prefer Alexander for boys rather than the others on girls. Don't know why, just not my cup of tea.
