[Opinions] Enoch
I am loving the Enoch. Can you imagine meeting a little Enoch? I think I'd pass out.

I love Enoch! It's at once jaunty and staid; that is, I can imagine an Enoch both scrappily rough-housing and joking with friends and poring over British Modernist literature while sipping tea and sporting a tweed waistcoat.

I think it's a fantastic name too! I'd love to meet a little Enoch. I knew a little boy named Victor Enoch, so I thought his name was kind of cool.

I have met two little Enochs! Which is quite surprising, because it's so rare.Personally, though, I don't really care for it. I find the sound of it awkward.

I don't like Enoch because the sound is not appealing to me. I pronounce it EE-nawk BTW, not EE-nək.

Enoch Powell is my association... being British and all. I think it's still a pretty strong association around these parts.Beyond that, I think it looks cool written down. It really does. I just think the Powell association's too much living where I do, and I don't like the sound. I like the look, but said aloud is another matter.

I think it's adorable too. There was a little Enoch in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and I fell in love.

Personally I don't see what the appeal is. I think it's way too close to eunuch, and besides, it sounds like a stern and crusty old man to me.

Even if Enoch was an attractive name, it would probably be avoided by most parents in the UK because of its association with the famous politician Enoch Powell whose anti-immigration speech in the 1960s was and still is widely reviled as racist (though this tag of racism attached to him is disputed by some commentators).

Not really, since I'm a "Boardwalk Empire" fan. When I hear Enoch, I think of Steve Buscemi.Other than that, I just don't think it's an attractive name. It sounds weird.

yupI immediately think of Nucky Thompson. And if I were to meet an Enoch in the next few years I'd probably assume he was named after the character/Enoch Johnson. Not the best namesake but sort of a cool image I guess. I do like Enoch though. It's so hard edged there's something alluring about it

You people and your pop culture associations. I don't so much have those--never watch TV and my taste never has been molded by it much. All I ever watch are my Avonlea and Anne of Green Gables DVDs these days--and those do impact my taste, so I suppose I am not totally immune.

But Enoch Johnson was a real person. Sure, Steve Buscemi's character was modeled after him but it's not like the association is going to fade away once the show's over - there's still history to contend with
