I actually love it. I associate it with the His Dark Materials trilogy, and the "lie" part doesn't bother me. When I have kids, Lyra June will be a definite contender for a girl.

I'm neutral on it...it is a bit of a 'nothing' name to me. I also find it awkward to say aloud with the l and r so close together.

I like it pronounced LEER-ah (similar to "lyric"), but the LYE-rah pronunciation always sounds like a villain's name to me. Not sure why. It just has a dark, sinister vibe to it to my ears. So, I like it, but not pronounced like LYE-rah. My cat's name is Lyra pronounced the other way.

I really like it. It would probably get misheard as the much more popular Lila...and speaking of Lila, I don't know why it's not more popular either.
